Doctor, ummmm...WHO??
Hi. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am DJ Doc, propietor of Doctor DJ. The name "Doc" was given to me by an old friend years ago and it stuck like glue.
History
I first got "the bug" for karaoke back in 1990, when I began scouting out locations where I could sing karaoke and have fun. Wherever I went, people liked my singing voice and stage presence. In fact they liked it so much they would say, "You should open your own Karaoke business!" So I went for it!
"Doctor DJ," as it is now known, originally opened under the name "Doc's Karaoke Experience" in 1993.
"-I Thought You Guys Were Disc Jockeys!"
In 1994, Doc's Karaoke Experience began offering Disc Jockey Entertainment, so that we could compete with other area disc jockeys. In an effort to promote this new facet of our overall presence in the entertainment market to prospective clients, we changed the name to "Doctor DJ Karaoke & Disc Jockey Services," or "Doctor DJ" for short.
During the early years, our focus was primarily in the bar scene with a mix of private events, and our performances were almost purely karaoke shows.
Soon after we began offering disc jockey shows, however, the focus immediately shifted to private events.
